An Exciting Challenge and Opportunity

50,000 Shoes in 50 Days

Anne Jackson over at FlowerDust shared this amazing opportunity last week, and I’m happy to invite you to get on board with it.

As I was walking to my study this morning, I had to kick aside probably 8 pairs of my daughters’ shoes that have been left laying around the house.  But did you know that 300 million people around the world today do not own a single pair of shoes?  Furthermore, they are forced to walk around barefoot in potentially unhealthy and unsafe conditions.

Enter the “50,000 Shoes in 50 Days Challenge.

soles4souls is a Nashville-based charity with a very focused mission: to provide shoes for people who have no shoes.  And so, working with Anne, they came up with this audacious challenge to provide fifty thousand pairs of shoes before the end of the year.

This has turned into a huge project!  In fact, forbes.com and CNBC have already picked up on this and have run stories on it.

And here is the best part:  You can make a difference with five dollars, two minutes, and three clicks of the mouse!

Five dollars will purchase two pairs of shoes.  Think about it!  For less than the cost of a trip to Starbucks, you can provide two people with their very first pair of shoes!  Just click here or the logo in the side column, and you can donate online.  Kim and I donated eight pairs of shoes this morning (one for every pair I kicked aside to get to my study).  It is very easy, takes less than two minutes, and changes someone’s life.

Furthermore, one person and a guest will be chosen to hand-deliver the shoes they donate to the person who receives them in Mexico.  Can you imagine physically handing someone their very first pair of shoes?

Wow.

Help us do this.  Donate right now, and then help us spread the word.
